Our first PLEO was born this past school year, and quickly became our class pet. Eighth grade students worked with PLEO to learn about this fascinating robot with a LifeOS. They soon learned how to program PLEO to perform behaviors that were unique to each student's individually created "skit".
The PLEO Project has attracted my middle school students to programming with a human touch, as they grow attached to the robotic creature and emote positive, caring human feelings and behaviors.
This fundraiser will allow us to purchase a companion PLEO robotic dinosaur for the classroom's project-based learning of programming concepts. My students are eager to see how a pair of dinosaurs can interact and be programmed to work together.
Cost of this project will cover PLEO, an additional rechargeable battery, and a protective skin covering---PLEO gets touched a lot, and this will protect his rubberized skin! :)
